Connecticut River Run 2002

  The Fourth Annual Connecticut River is in the history books.  Despite a brief period of wind and rain everybody seemed to have a blast.  This is a group of hardcore boaters! Fifty boats showed up to launch at Haddam Meadows. After a couple of hours of checking out all the different rigs we had a short drivers meeting with Warren Elliot conducting.  In about an hour we had all the boats in the water. That’s pretty amazing when you consider on any other day you would be hard pressed to see 12 boats launched in that short a time!  We then headed north for a day of pizza and boating.  Along the way we picked up another17 boats that launched at different sites along the river. 

   As usual Hydrostreams were on top of the boat count list with 15. STVs were well represented with 6.

There was a $101.00 surplus in the pizza money donations.  This money has been donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.  Two nieces , Marisa (7) and Emily (5) say thanks for supporting this organization.
