When
my father took on Skeeter bass boats, in the mid to late
seventies, this was the first thing that jumped off the page.
Along with several bass boats, the first Oddessy was delivered. It
was gray metal flake, and we put an 80 HP Merc on it. We sold four
of these total, including one that was a "blem" from the
factory. The gel never set up right. It was sold to a fisherman,
who put his used 50 HP Johnson on it, and used
it as a fishing boat for three years before bringing it back to
trade up. I bought the boat, and put my freshly tricked out 85 HP
Merc on it. Thru the years, it has seen everything from new demo
engines to inline sixes. With the original XS engine - that the
cowling is from - on the transom, it did in the low seventies. The
boat was sold by me to friends who eventually sold it back, three
times. This last time around, I sold it to a friend that we see
out with it all the time. Anyone who's seen the boat thought it
was a Stream…until you look close at the sides. My dad and I
recently acquired one of the other ones we sold! Maybe another
project?
