Champion/225 HO Props I
was just wondering what props are available for a 225 HO. I have a
223 Champion and it came stock with a 24 pitch prop. The boat is
only running about 69mph at 5700 rpms. I do not want to get over
6000 rpms because they will not warranty my motor, they say. But on
the other hand I want as much speed as I can get. I know I will need
to adjust the jackplate accordingly but can you give me a starting point
and maybe where to buy props.
Mike, Just about any V-6 prop can be adapted to your HO. Merc uses a removable hub to make the swaps easy. Their 25 or 26 trophy would be a good one to try. 69 in the 223 is nothing to be scoffed at. That is excellent for that big of a boat. Try any prop you can get that is in the 24- 26 pitch range. You may find a sweet prop that is faster. With so many possibilities the combos are almost endless though. Randy
