Motor Identification Hi I purchased a boat - an alpine tri hull the
motor on it is a 85hp Johnson model number 85ESL69E serial number J3034142
the cover says Johnson 85hp hydro-electric drive, could you please tell me
the year of this motor and if it is electric shift or if it has an
alternator. I’m pretty new to boating - handy with a wrench and willing
to learn. Matt, The
motor is a 1969 and has a relatively small alternator. 9 amps if memory
serves. I was only 7 years old then, so I am not too knowledgeable on the
older stuff.
