Mariner Trouble Hi
I hope you will be able to help me! I have a 1979 Monark with a 115
horsepower Mariner motor with a 24 pitch prop. Recently I have had trouble
getting it to plane out. Then while running down the lake it lost all
power and would not plane back out. It would go in reverse fine and only
at idle speed in forward. Any ideas on what might be my problem? Thank you
so much for any input you may have.
Traci, First
place I'd look is in the shift throttle linkage area. Sounds like
something broke. Try some vent holes if the prop is a thru hub - add some
blade roll if it is a chopper.
