Oily Residue Hi,
I’m new to outboards. I recently purchased a 90 Johnson motor.
After boating I see a black oily fluid just below cowling running
down the lower unit shaft. What is causing this fluid and is it a problem
or just normal. Thanks for your help. Unburned
gas and oil. It dilutes the carbon in your exhaust system and causes the
stuff to make a mess.
