Ultimate Voo-doo Setup

Hey randy,

I own a Voodoo with no motor as of right now.  This boat is a race version and pictures can be seen in the Registry.  The bottom of the boat has been blueprinted and the boat has cable steering as of now.  I was wondering what the ultimate set up for this little boat would be and what types of speeds I could be seeing.  I probably will not follow threw with this plan in the near future, but I would just like to know what the potential for this little hull is and what the set up would be.

If I owned one (not that I like certain brand motors) I'd run a European Yamaha 70C race engine. This 850cc motor rules the V-bottom class in Europe and the Kilo record is over 90mph. The motor has a small 55 hp style gearcase. It has a 15" shaft, and turns 8500 + rpm. This lightweight little dynamo, makes over 100 hp and weighs the same as most 40 hp. Most of these motors can be bought used for about 1500 - 3000 pounds in the UK. Convert that to US$, and you can see what a potent little boat you would have. Shipping and import duties are not all that bad, as I have checked into it before. Just some food for thought.
