Prop for Voyager/Evinrude 175

Randy,

I have an 82 Voyager with a 97 175HP Evinrude.  What would the best prop be for top speed?  I think probably a chopper?  Also, I have a jack plate.  What have you found to be the optimum engine height for this setup.

Andy, 

The newer 158 cu Evinrudes like to be lugged down and love thru hub props. I'd start with a 24 or 26 raker prop with the propshaft at 2" or so below the pad. Your overall performance will be great and I doubt a chopper will be more that 1 or 2 faster. But the low end will suck.
