Voyager XT Pad

I have a 1990 Voyager XT.  Bought it new in 90 and now have to look at removing dingers/scratches from the hull.  For better top end and stability should I have the pad straightened or leave it as is with a small hook in the pad?

Anytime you make it closer to perfect (flat and nice sharp corners), you will always reap benefits. It is a lot of work, but well worth it.
