Vulture Hull

Hi Randy,

I purchased an 81 Vulture last year with a little bottom damage. I've repaired the damage with the West system. I removed the hook while blue printing the pad. I'm confused, on S/F they say to leave it alone, in Vulture tech talk in IHR they say to remove it to the lifting strakes. Did I screw up the hull removing the hook? This boat is just a toy it’s not my family boat. Please reply Thanks Mike

 

Mike, 

You did good. Removing the hook is the best thing you could do for that boat. Most of the stuff on S & F is wide of the mark. I find most of the reading there entertaining. There are some good threads and knowledgeable people but they are few and hard to find. Remember that good old fashioned hard work and simple set-up gives great returns. My opinion is there is too much "fantasy" expert help out there. Trust me, you are on the right track and I expect your boat will run better than the average Vulture.
