Vulture Props Hi Randy, I have a 1982 Vulture with a Johnson 235 V6 1984. I would like to get two props, one for speed and one for skiing. Any suggestions? Also, I have a jackplate on the boat currently rigged at the 3" mark. Is that the correct level for getting out of the hole or should I go lower? Thanks much Jeffrey Stevens
Hi Jeff, This
may sound wrong but try this set up. Get a SMALL HUB 26 Merc laser 2 that
is hubbed for the OMC. The prop will pull like a 17 aluminum but top out
in the 75ish range. We use them all the time on rigs like yours. They
punch extremely hard and have top end within a few mph of the best
choppers. Your height sounds good. If the motor pulls the wheel hard to
the right then you would be a little too high.
Try that set up and I think you'll like the result.
