XR4 Spark Advance Hi Randy, I have a
Virage with an XR4. The XR4 has solid mounts, a G force tuner, and
Boyeson reeds. You advised
me once before to remove the spark timing module behind the flywheel and
to set the timing to 25 degrees. If I do
that, can I still run lake gas? We like to take day trips and the
Virage tank is not big enough for an all day cruise. Thanks David
David, Yes,
here in the states we can run 92 octane at 25 degrees of timing. Not
knowing what octane gas you have in Canada, I will suggest 22 or 23
degrees to start. Try to get the highest octane gas at the pump, and
you should be more than safe. If only 87 is what you run, keep it at
20 - 21 degrees.
